Job Overview

About The Role

Consumer Finance helps AO customers spread the cost of their purchases and facilitates ongoing customer loyalty. It plays a core role in AO's success.

As the Consumer Finance Partner Manager, you'll drive performance, help shape future growth opportunities and strengthen our consumer finance proposition. You'll report to the Head of Financial Services and work with the Financial Services team to deliver the commercial and strategic AO Finance plan. Working closely with senior stakeholders across AO and key external partners, you'll support sustainable growth, outstanding customer outcomes and long-term business value.

This is a role with real influence across AO, bringing together commercial performance, customer experience, strategic partnerships and future growth.
Our people are our superpower, and we’re unstoppable when we’re together! We want your ideas to flow, and what better way to make that happen than being based onsite in our Bolton office at least 2 days a week, where our culture fuels creativity, collaboration and growth. If a £1 bet in the pub between two friends can become the UKs most trusted electrical retailer, imagine what else can be achieved when we’re together.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Working as a key member of the team to deliver the Consumer Finance plan and roadmap
  • Developing and managing key relationships with external finance providers and commercial partners. You'll work with the wider Financial Services team to deliver this responsibility.
  • Collaborating across the Financial Services and Retail teams to enhance customer propositions and strengthen our competitive position
  • Building alignment across the business to ensure key initiatives are prioritised and delivered effectively
  • Providing executive and board-level reporting on performance and opportunities
  • Championing great customer outcomes and supporting the maintenance of strong governance, regulatory compliance and financial controls

A Few Things About You

  • Experience in Consumer Finance gained with a retailer or lender. You'll also bring leadership experience in commercial delivery and partnership management.
  • A strong track record of owning and improving commercial performance
  • Proven success developing strategic partnerships and negotiating mutually beneficial commercial outcomes
  • Ability to build alignment, challenge thinking and drive action across complex stakeholder groups. You'll bring the credibility and influence with senior leaders needed to support this work.
  • Commercially minded, analytical and confident making decisions in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Understanding of the UK Financial Services regulatory landscape and the importance of governance, compliance and Consumer Duty

You'll make a meaningful impact for AO's customers, partners and business as part of the team shaping the future of Consumer Finance within AO. This is an opportunity to help lead the delivery of one of AO's most strategically important propositions.

A Bit About Us

We’re big on appliances and electricals, REALLY big. Washing machines, fridge freezers and TVs? They’re our bread and butter. Mobiles, Airwraps and Ring doorbells? Yep, those too. If it plugs in, powers up or makes life easier, AO probably has it.

But we’re more than that… For over 25 years, trust has been at the heart of everything we do, helping us become the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer. Our customers rate us 4.9 on Trustpilot from nearly ONE MILLION reviews and more 5-star ratings than any other UK electrical retailer, because they know they can rely on us and it’s the exact same for our AOers too.

We truly believe it’s more than just a job, we genuinely care about each other and our impact on making our customers lives easier, by helping them brilliantly. Everyone here knows how their role makes a difference. Our people are our superpower, so, when it comes to finding new AOers, we know it’s about more than just a CV, it’s about what makes you, YOU.
